Off the Scale
Off the Scale is a platformer built for Kenney Jam 2026 (theme: "Scale").
Every few seconds, a chaos timer kicks in and applies a random scale modifier while you're mid-run: gravity gets heavier or looser, you shrink or grow, the camera zooms, or the world flips. You don't choose when or what. You just have to keep moving and adapt.
Reach the exit door before you run out of lives. Built entirely with: Kenney's Pico-8 Platformer asset pack.
I made this solo, right after finishing a Godot tutorial course. This jam was my first time building something real from scratch. It got frustrating at times, but also really fun, and I learned a ton along the way.

I feel like the random event timer should have a visual indicator. I also feel like the timer is way too fast, so you could slow it down or possibly add some way to slow it down with an ability. Other than that, this is actually an amazing game and I love the concept.
Thank you so much for this!! I actually went and fixed both things you mentioned right after reading your comment. There's a progress bar now that shows you when the next change is coming, and I slowed down the timer too because yeah, it was way too fast before. Really glad you liked the idea, this was my first game so comments like this mean a lot!
